Part-Time (Friday) Family Assistant, New Canaan CT j-511
A warm, busy New Canaan family is seeking a reliable, organized, and proactive Family Assistant to help keep their household running smoothly. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys both working with children and taking care of the details that make a home feel organized and well supported.
The family has two school-aged daughters, ages 12 and 10, and a small dog.
Location: New Canaan, CT
Compensation: $35 per hour
Schedule:
Fridays, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Some flexibility with start and end times is appreciated. The family would also love someone who may occasionally be available for evening or overnight help, although this is not required.

Responsibilities:
Getting children ready for school in the morning, including making breakfast and packing their lunches
Driving the children to and from school. Family will provide a job for on-the-job use
Provide attentive, dependable care when the children are home
Cooking and meal prep for the children, meal prep for whole family on occasion
Laundry for the children and parents
Miscellaneous errands, including grocery shopping
Light housekeeping, including keeping common spaces tidy and ironing when needed
Miscellaneous home organization tasks
Notice what needs to be done and take initiative during downtime
Maintaining routines for the children, helping to maintain a smooth household rhythm
Walk and play with the family dog, provide him with basic care during the day (family has 1 small dog under 25lbs)
Flexibility for occasional evenings and overnights is preferred but not required
Must-haves:
Comfortable with dogs (family has 1 small dog)
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; Strong and confident driver
CPR/First Aid certified
Fluent in/has strong command of English
Someone who genuinely enjoys household tasks and creating an organized home
A dog lover who is happy to include the family’s dog in the day
A good cook or someone who enjoys meal preparation—a definite plus!
Proactive and comfortable taking initiative
Excellent organization, communication, and attention to detail
Agency Requirements:
Intent to make a long-term commitment to a role
Candidates should have a valid US driver’s license and have a clean driving record
21+ years of age
Current CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to become certified/renew certification upon hire
Minimum of a high-school diploma
Willing to participate in a criminal background check and social media check
Legally authorized to work in the US
Have a relevant job history with outstanding references
