This is a warm, busy family seeking a nanny/family assistant who will become a trusted and valued part of their long-term support system. They are looking for someone who brings both professionalism and flexibility—someone who can confidently step in, take initiative, adapt to the changing needs of the household, and help keep their busy home running smoothly. The ideal candidate is energetic, proactive, team-oriented, and comfortable supporting a dynamic family environment with evolving schedules, activities, and responsibilities as the children grow. The nanny will collaborate with the live-in full time nanny who has been with the family over 9 years.
Nanny needed in Darien, CT for four children, ages 9, 7, 3 and 18 months old
Location: Darien, CT
Compensation: $30-$40 per hour
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday-8AM - 7PM
Tuesday, Thursday - Friday, 11AM - 7PM
Start Date: As soon as the right candidate is selected

Responsibilities:
Assist with childcare for four children
Working collaboratively with the full time nanny
Mother who occasionally works from home and will be available to help if her schedule allows
Cooking for the entire family is not required, but would be a strong preference
Must be highly adaptable and comfortable with a role that will evolve over time
Family is looking for someone with significant flexibility as schedules, routines, and responsibilities shift seasonally and as the children grow older
Comfortable managing frequent changes to activities, school schedules, and daily logistics
Supervising the children as they swim (strong swimmer is required)
Driving the children to and from school and activities using nanny car(the live in nanny does not drive, mom will help with some driving and the kids participate in car pooling from time to time as well)
Preparing healthy meals/snacks for the children
Laundry for the family (children and parents)
Overnight care for the children on occasion if needed
Traveling with the family on vacations(possibly)
Planning age-appropriate activities, outings, and engaging play
Supporting routines, structure, and developmental milestones
Maintaining organization of child-related spaces
Supporting a smooth, well-run daily household rhythm
Must-haves:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
Experience with multiple-child households
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Confident swimmer
CPR/First Aid certified
Travel flexibility preferred
Overnight flexibility preferred
Excellent communication and attention to detail
Agency Requirements:
Intent to make a long-term commitment to a role
Willing to be paid via payroll
Candidates should have a valid US driver’s license and have a clean driving record
21+ years of age
Current CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to become certified/renew certification upon hire
Minimum of a high-school diploma
Willing to participate in a criminal background check and social media check
Legally authorized to work in the US
Have a relevant job history with outstanding references
